I started the first Library Music Themes forum (or LMT as it became known) in 2012.   I ran it alone for years and invited a couple of others to help with admin; to share it more than for necessity as it wasn’t a lot of work.

When it came to forum 6 the decision was made to invite someone in to help us create a more robust forum that would be less vulnerable.  Unfortunately this person helped us and has now booted us all out so I want people to know I no longer run the forum- I have no voice there.  If I try to ask about it in a post he doesn’t post it up so I have been silenced on the board I set up nearly 5 years ago. It feels sad to end like this.  Years of passion, years of sharing my thoughts, knowledge and rare LP’s has just disappeared.  As I can’t be heard on the board I hope some of you will find this post and hear what has happened and know that the person on that board is nothing to do with me.  It annoys me to see my banner and the row of De Wolfes as the background pic.  These are mine and still my stamp on the place but that is all of me that’s there now unfortunately.

To be clear, I am not asking for anyone’s loyalty.  I actually don’t care who runs it so long as it is run respectfully of it’s members.  When I was in charge no one was banned, not one post was deleted and I never had a crossed word or nasty PM from or with any member ever.  I was totally open and didn’t deal with problems behind closed doors.   THAT IS MY ISSUE.  I don’t like the locked posts where no one can reply so one person tells everyone how to behave, deletes you if you don’t and keeps the facts from the other members.  That is why I am unhappy.

  6. UPDATE: We ran into a technical snag while migrating to the bigger server. Mr. has been working overtime trying to fix everything. I know it’s frustrating, but please be patient. We should be up and running soon.

    We upgraded the SSL certificate some time ago. That was no big deal. The site is secure.

    Few days earlier I’ve received a notification while entering the site;
    “this site is insecure” and I had to made an exception rule in Mozilla to enter it.

  11. Everything is fine. The site was generating more traffic than the host allowed, so we’re now in the process of upgrading the server to cover the higher volume.
    We’ll be back in a day or so. All good.

  13. Guys, can you maybe please create/open a forum/site where users could donate to you via PayPal to support it?
    These type of forums that we had by now will always end up the same way, unfortunately…
    I think LMT has now grown enough big to have such a thing.
    It may be a bit rough in the beginning until all the users gather again and understand
    it’s the only way for an LMT forum to be a stable forum 🙂

    I am surprised I am the first person to comment on here, as this was the unofficial gathering spot should the board get taken down again.

  19. The Official LMT 7 site is experiencing some minor technical difficulties. No worries. We’ll be back soon.
    The v6 “hack” is fake. Simply an attempt to save face and to try to run from past offenses.
    LMT will live on.

  22. So… now v6 has supposedly been “hacked” by the “Morrocan cyber army”. Don’t know what that’s about, but from what I’m reading here, it’s probably fake.

Please be aware that the administrator of this rogue LMT6 board has now begun to create fake accounts using variations of former respected members’ usernames (e.g. “mister” for Mr, etc.) and re-posting links from the Official LMT site (librarymusicthemes.net). Even more pathetic is that most of the active “members” on this rogue board are actually just one person, using different pseudonyms, all to conceal the fact that the board is effectively dead.

  24. Thanks. I’d love that, but It seems I am still banned by IP. I can still join but I have to use a proxy to use the site which is lame. It has been the same for all forums since I was banned from the old one. You might need to talk to your other admins/mods about it.I still have plenty of friends within the community and would love to be involved once again.

    I never thought about who If anyone led to the shutdowns. We’re back now. Come on over. We want the spirit of the original 2012 forum back.

  26. This is all crazy to read. I’m sorry for everything that’s happened.

    I (Junkie) was banned from the original LMT by the admins when they accused me of single handedly shutting down the forums.. I don’t hold any grudges for that..

    It coincided with a time I got a slap on the wrist for sharing things that weren’t allowed to be shared, so I was the only obvious suspect. I understand.. As much as it sucks.

    I’m gonna be honest..I’ve still been sneaking into the new forums and stalking you all..It’s kind of sad not being able to share any of my new purchases and digging adventures.. I do miss it.

  27. Just an FYI for everyone, and some may be we aware already; some of the mega threads are also of the Final Fanatsy Forum site. A few of the newer members that are apparently still active on what is now a dead to us LMT V6, have also included their listings and links on that site. I think this will help many out until a new version of LMT can be established.

    Looks like I may have been the first of the ipbanned, delighted if so.

    I guess we’ve all fallen victim to the world’s most unambitious megalomaniac. I mean, a library music forum? It’s like if Rupert Murdoch plotted his whole life using dirty tricks to become captain of his local domino team.

    Incompetent too, I’m sure we can all see plenty of very simple things he could have done to give his coup a bit more of a pretence of legitimacy.

    At least this time it’s completely clear who the culprit is.

Just to be clear – my “little comment” on the Sermi thread was meant to restore to Mr. some credit for the work (discographies, etc) he’d done on/for, to counteract the effect of Peepers’ actions to erase all mention of Mr from the board. … Update, 22 Jan ’18: LMTv6 no longer visible/visitable – just the weird “librarymusicthemes.com server is currently under attack” message.

    The site formerly known to us as LMT, was seized by Piero Penis Envy over the X-mas holiday. The original LMT Community exists no longer.
    In order to consolidate his ‘power,’ Piero Peckerwood has reverted to a bunker mentality. He began by banning Retronic and all the mods. Next, he banned most (or all?) the original members. He even banned rank and file members. By trying to salvage and preserve LMT after his Hostile Takeover, Piero the Pustule has effectively killed the original LMT. Nice going!
    Personally, I think he banned anybody who could link his previous incarnation as Piero to the LMT Coup, and his new persona as Peepers. Anybody who knew him before could begin to connect the dots of what’s transpired and begin to ask annoying questions, or speak out against him & his sleazy actions.
    Surely members can be replaced, but by whom? Will Peckerwood replace us with those geniuses who were openly posting both LMT and various members ripped links in the open? Will he bring several of his Thief Buddies like Thief Ali over to LMT in an effort to breathe new life into the quiet website?
    Whatever his strategy, it’s untenable. The real LMT Community, the Nucleus, has been banned. We may again form up under another URL, and perhaps call ourselves something different, but WE will ALWAYS be the LMT Community. All others are weak imitations.
    By having to ban so many members, Peckerwood is basically destroying the house, room by room, timber by timber, because he thought he saw a mouse. Is this a sustainable practice? Do these actions sound like a well-reasoned, carefully planned strategy?
    Does anybody truly believe any holdover LMT members will trust Peckerwood from here on out? That those holdovers won’t notice how quickly LMT emptied out, taking the vitality, life and laughter with them? That rippers will trust Peckerwood as the new “mayor” and confidently post their new rips there?
    Sure, Peckerwood is the new mayor, but he presides over a ghost town. All he has now is the coveted name of LMT.
    As much as this digs @ Retronic, don’t forget that LMT is NOTHING without the community of individuals that made it such a powerful name. And we’re standing by, waiting for your call.

  35. Greta, you are spot on with your last statement. He indeed said in no uncertain terms the web domain that he secured was in no way vulnerable to attacks or shutdowns which had previously taken LMT off-line. Twenty four hours before we thought the board was indeed offline for TOS violations, he had instituted a COMPLETE and TOTAL control over what was posted on the forums. I have never seen someone who has been on such a power trip under the circumstances in which he has. At the end of the day, the odds that this thief will ever meet or hangout or gain any kind national recognition is next to ZERO. His life must be so empty and void of any substantial meaning that his world revolves around an online forum in which he can be the ruler and dictator of a who dare venture on his domain.

    Sad, but we will rise again and it will be better than before. If for no other reason than the forum will be safeguarded against total idiots like this thief.

    If you have an account, please email admin@librarymusicthemes.com with your username and instructions will be sent back to you within 24 hours. Please make sure the email address you write from corresponds to the username we have on file.”

    Who is attacking the site? As far as I know nobody is doing that.
    Considering one of thief’s past statements, the site is un-attackable, so, what?
    It sounds a bit paranoid, or maybe another way to blame old users, accusing them of something they’re not doing, trying to find a way to justify his madness.

  37. Apparently, and this is not confirmed; Peepers aka thief has been made aware of the comments on here and therefore blocked access to LMT. Essentially he has pulled the biggest power play possible and blocked IP addresses from seeing the forum. This is just as well for many, as Retronic has stated he doesn’t want to be a part of a community that is run in this manner. Regardless I and many others haven’t considered what was run by this idiot the true LMT for some time. Go to the Google Docs page to read up on this situation as provided by Stack Jackson.

  38. Freddy, hi. I’m the one who made that little comment on the SR/Sermi post by Mr (now ‘Library Music Themes’).

    As of 19th Jan 2018 I can no longer login to LMTv6. Can’t login, post, or reply to anyone there. (Hello, to any LMTv6 members reading this.) Anyway, I guess that I’ve been banned – without notice or warning.

    I also noticed (I can still see the board, just can’t log in) that the “Sorry, I messed up…” post seems to be gone now. Peepers/Piero seems to be banning whomever he wants, deleting posts, locking threads, changing author credit – for what appears to be no good reason. It’s hard to see much sense in it, or to what end it’s being done.

    Those who see the TOS violation message, simply have their ip banned.
    This pathetic person is pushing beyond all limits, keeping under control every single private message, censoring every post against his likes, banning users who tried to open a debate and criticize his manners, crediting to himself other users work, constructing a false narrative since the beginning, blaming old users with false arguments. He was the one yammering about “open forum”, “community”, blathering about the old admins being the “library police”. Rummy, at least. Insane, I would say.
    Hijacker, kidnapper, thief, you’re reading this, be sure this will all crash around you sooner or later.

  40. The thing was, too many people were openly posting hotlinks back to LMT on other forums.
    This was pointed out on more than one occasion and imo it’s a direct result of Piero Penis Envy’s new board ‘policy’ of openness.
    LMT never had a problem with being open before, but we did use common sense in NOT continually posting links that would bring too much notoriety.
    By wanting to be Mister Important, Piero the Thief pulled a Christmas Coup, banned the moderators from the board they founded, silenced many original members, and simultaneously shitecanned many original safeguards intended to protect the LMT board in an effort to boost traffic.
    The result is that LMT choked and suffocated on it’s newfound notoriety. Too much, too soon, methinks.
    And now LMT, aka the Golden Goose, is killed by a self-important wannabe dictator.

  41. Here is the deal, the new supposed “amin” was a lying thief as was proven time and time again by his refusal to allow members to ask questions. On top of that he went on and on about how he supposedly secured the web domain as being one hundred percent safe guarded from going down to any “tos” violations. Low and behold the forum has been removed for just that reason. Karma worked a lot faster than I had anticipated, and I think it’s for the best of those who put their time and energy into making LMT a success.

  48. Peepers has total control. I even believe he has access to read members private messages. This was not the case with the previous group of admins. He is so paranoid members will find out the “truth” he deletes any post which questions why Mr is not given credit.
    It truly is a sad time when I get notices from members who continually are silenced. For what? All because this new admin, hell let’s call him what he really is a thief, couldn’t come to an agreement in private with Mr. Honestly it has been stated by Greta and Mr, of course that thread this was in has since been deleted; that because he didn’t get a quick enough response during the holidays, he took things over.

  50. I have received emails from other long time members that have confirmed they have been silenced as well. Retronic is exactly point on when he said this is no way to run a forum. It makes me so angry to see those who put their time and effort into making LMT become a wonderful community be silenced with very polite and sensible questions.

    Karma is a indeed a real thing, and its coming to Peepers aka Piero now best known as thief.

    If you want justice for Mr, Retronic and the rest of those who put LMT on the map, we should peacefully protest. I am open to suggestions as it must be done.

  51. Yes, I stepped down last week or the week before although yesterday it still said ‘Site Admin’ by my name- I’ve asked him to change that. I don’t want to be part of anything that operates by not allowing people to say what they think.

This arrogant new admin has tried his best to erase the existence of Mr. from the memory of LMT. I’m hoping to rally the gang and make sure the new wave of members knows the truth.

  56. I saw someone ask a question last week and they were shut down straight away. They may have been banned or they have gone quiet. If you can’t challenge anything it’s going to crash around him.
    There seems to be a load of new people but the old characters have disappeared or are very quiet.

  58. Ite time to out this individual, I think those who have been around the forum for any length of time know how much work Mr put into his labels directory. Now it’s all gone and with post started asking why, questioning where Mr is, it is deleted. It’s a shame that this has happened and I think it’s time that certain members band together and bombard the forum with questions about the changes. Piers aka Peepers aka thief will be so busy trying to delete all the threads he will have to make a statement. Then again that statement will be lies as he has proven when he took down certain threads that were meant to inform all the new members of the changes to begin with.

    If.you support Retronic, Mr, Greta and the other long time mods and members don’t sit back and let this continue. Call out this low level thief for what he he is.

    It is not perfect though. It says “I’m sorry I seized control and made unilateral changes and got rid of all the mods, I shouldn’t have done it, but the changes I made unilaterally were correct, they stay on my unilateral authority, and only one of the mods comes back although I’ve deleted all the mentions I made of the other ones strangling puppies”.

  63. Even the new wording of “4. Retronic, the original founder of this site, will stay on as moderator. We’ve agreed on the new rules and on a policy of not deleting or censoring users’ posts, requests, or shares” kind of implies “I was right and did nothing wrong and Retronic is staying because he’s agreed he was totally in the wrong and agrees with me about everything now, having previously been a crazy totalitarian” – otherwise it should stop at ‘moderator’.

  64. I think a new post saying what lead to it would be good for the board. We all do things for a reason. Sometimes saying ‘I did this and maybe I could have done this instead’ is good. We’re all human and act to n our feelings. It needn’t drag on.

  65. Another issue is, the statement has been changed so that now Peepers was never at war with Retronic, but the same remains to be done for Mr and Stacks. If someone spreads shit about people, and those people then have to negotiate the withdrawal of that shit on an individual basis, that doesn’t suggest a reformed character, that would be “hey, I’ve written a load of shit, I better sort that out straight away”.

  66. That is what I was saying, but I think your view is reasonable too, mufdivr. Maybe it’s pragmatic to make do with “I’m reluctant to explain, I’m less reluctant to mislead, I promise not to do it again until the next time”, but it’s not ideal.

    One particularly revealing part of his statement was the very start – “We wanted to let this play out before making any announcements, but:”

    “We” seems to mean “Me” – but what does the rest of it mean? “I wanted to see what people knew after the dust settled to avoid making any claims everyone would know where false?”

    I agree that he was trying to save face to prevent a mass exodus. Another way to prevent a mass exodus would have been to be honest, a behaviour which inspires trust.

  67. I’ll ask him if he’ll post something up. He doesn’t want it played out on the board but I think people should know what motivated it. When someone contacts me to apologize that open up communication. I don’t hold grudges. People may think I’m naive but I can say this– in life it has worked for me. There’s only one forum and I will try to make it work. If it doesn’t I will worry then.

    RT, are you or Scatterkeir suggesting that if Piero Peepers relaxes his grip on LMT that we can all move on and put this past week behind us, as if nothing’s happened? I’m not trying to put words into your mouths, I’m just trying to clarify what you both wrote, above.

    I think that the action’s been done and as Mister said to me Friday, the board has been compromised. We can’t go back as if nothing’s happened. Trust has been broken. Big lies have been told, and continue to grow, being compounded daily.

    Our board, formerly known as LMT, is no more, despite the appearances. His need to be nice and keep up appearances is to prevent a mass exodus by the membership. He won’t need to be nice after he’s feeling more comfortable and sure of himself.

    Piero Peepers has shown his hand and has demonstrated by his actions the contempt he truly feels for the LMT mods, and the membership, by extension.

    Piero / Peeper has invested in LMT not to make friends, or to experience the the camaraderie & goodwill of like-minded enthusiasts and collectors. He’s invested in LMT for himself, by any means necessary.

  70. We’ve messaged each other and I’ll be happier if the admin is relaxed. I believe forums this small can work fine with people managing their own behavior. I don’t like nannying. My belief is if someone starts causing trouble you ignore the behaviour- they usually pack it in or go. Always worked for us on the old forum.

  76. An honourable admin, finding himself at odds with those who morally have the authority (if we imagine that that’s what the issue was) , would either suck it up or step down, not perform some sleazy putsch.

    Even if you HAD been deleting files from the database, he hasn’t demonstrated to me that he was within his rights to do anything about that. Especially as he seems to be saying that that they can be recovered quite simply (“I will have to manually restore much of this content one entry at a time” sounds to me like “I will have to click on some things individually, boo hoo”).

That’s understandable but at last show what’s happened to the community. It was always built on respect when I ran things- no bans, no deleted posts, no crossed words between me and may other member ever.

  79. That entire statement is false. None of us were informed before the changes were made. In fact, most of us were away for the holidays. When we attempted to respond, we were promptly deleted from the board. My name appears in the user list, but I have no log-in access.

I am not inclined to believe anything in the statement because it is demonstrably misleading in at least one regard – it very vaguely implies action and decisions taken collectively, but there appear to be no other mods or admins at the moment. If the statement is using vagueness to imply that what was done was done with the proper authority to do it, that’s as dishonest as an explicit lie. If it’s being vague and evasive about on what authority it did what it did I can only assume that it did not have sufficient authority.

    It then follows that I have no reason to believe that I can learn anything about the motivations for this purge from reading the statement’s justifications either.

  88. Mr linked me to this. My browser didn’t remembe my password on LMT, strangely, but a reset request worked. I see that there was a recent rule change,relaxing the rules about what can be shared, supposedly after admin “talked with over a dozen contributing members and we all came to the same conclusion” (said 4 days ago) – did that discussion actually happen?

    It appears that ‘admin’ is currently the only admin and the only mod.

  90. This completely sucks, Retro. I was just away for a few weeks and emailed Mr. (who’s also been kicked out) to see what had happened. For some reason I can’t even see the board anymore. But if all the main people have been booted out then it’s not “Librarymusicthemes” anyway …
